The Shirty Group

The Shirty Group is a 100% family-owned Australian brand founded by Sophie in Melbourne in 2016. It began with a single sweatshirt — a nostalgic nod to the '80s styles we loved as teenagers. Crafted from washed French terry cotton and finished with our signature elbow patch, it quickly became a cult favourite, worn and loved by everyone from teenagers to octogenarians.

Our timeless, easy aesthetic soon expanded into a much-loved popover shirtdress, followed by a broader collection of effortless shirting and enduring wardrobe staples — all created with quality, comfort, and longevity in mind.

We don’t follow trends. Every piece is thoughtfully designed with our customer at the heart, made to be worn season after season, year after year.
